Team,

Couple thoughts to get us started this season:
• Our group was as good as any in the nation at the end of the year. Anyone. Someone might have been as good (not sure), but not better.
• I knew we would have some good swims, I did not know that we could be that fast for that many days. Awesome.
• If you were in CA for the meets, would be a good idea to take at least this week off. Need everyone to have some gas in the tank at the end of the the coming season.
• If you’ve been off for a while, time to get going. We start rather softly, so everyone should be fine.
• I will be in and out the first two weeks, have a trip with my kids this weekend, and a clinic in Florida next week.
• One thing is for certain; we need to get better at celebrating our Championships!!!!
• Practice 4-5:30 PM for the first couple of weeks. Wed-Fri this week, Mon-Thurs the following two.

Cheers,

JT

Here is the breakdown for the Seniors and Juniors Meets:

Seniors:
• JChrist/Stafford/Stewart/Bentz staying with their families through the 5th, join team on the 6th at the Stanford Terrace Inn.
• Lane/Browning/Kase/Koski staying with Jason and Rich at the Terrace for Seniors (I need arrival dates for each of them)
• Rich arriving on the 3rd of August, Jason on the 30th late.
• I will send out what hotel $ is due once I get actual arrival dates from people.
• Meals will be on your own for seniors. I have arranged with the Sports Café for Breakfast and Lunch each day, so all we have to get is dinner.
Juniors
• Stafford/Stewart/JChristy/Bentz join group on the 6th at terrace
• Again, breakfast and lunch arranged through the Sports Café, adjacent to the pool. Dinner our chaperone will arrange each night.
• If arriving the 5th $775.00 by check to Rich or Jason by Tuesday the 26th. Palo Alto is expensive; I apologize. If arriving the 6th at the hotel that number is $683.00.

Thanks,

JT

Practice Schedules:

I talked to a lot of the athletes today who want to avoid the 1-3 or 2-4 practice Saturday afternoon. Understandable. For those coming to Tech, come there to swim and then be social if you like. Not during.

Saturday July 23 7:00-8:30 AM at Tech, or 2-4 PM at Dynamo, or 4:15-5:45 PM at Tech (Aerobic, but not aerobic recovery) Also a 6-7:30 AM choice at Chamblee with Masters
Sunday July 24 on own 1500-2000 yards
Monday July 25 8:00-10:00 AM Aerobic and technical
Tuesday July 26 8:00-10:00 AM FAST
Wednesday July 27 9:00-11:00 AM threshold and aerobic
Thursday July 28 9:00-10:30 AM recovery
Friday July 29 9:00-11:00 AM FAST
Saturday July 30 9:00-11:00 AM

Little bit of dryland each day.

Trying to get us on west coast time as we start heading out.

After the Senior State Meet, those without a meet remaining are welcome and encouraged to come to practice, but only with the idea of getting our group ready to be great out west. Think about it, people you are already not faster than are still practicing and getting better. Come and practice hard, no exceptions.

I will get the practices for August 1-5 to you in a couple of days, as need to arrange as i head out to Stanford on the 30th at night.

On Monday the 25th delivered will be a new video system (upgrade over the Jason 6000, sad) that will allow us to see 4 simultaneous shots under and above the water.... Use the next bit of time to take advantage.

For those going to Seniors and juniors, i will get information about costs to you tomorrow. Still trying to whittle down some costs, but will need to get your hotel and meals via a check on Tuesday this week.

Thanks,

JT

Good Job this past weekend. Stick to it, and be willing to get through some discomfort and the swims are there…..

Practices this week:

Tuesday 9:00-10:30 AM (Everyone)
Wednesday 8:00-10:00 AM (senior state swimmers done at 9:15AM)
Thursday 1:00-3:00 PM
Friday 1:00-3:00 PM
Saturday 1:00-3:00 PM
Sorry about the 2-4 time frame, but with Senior State it is the only time other than very early to do it.

On Tuesday I will post information about the Palo Alto trip(s). For Juniors some money will be due ahead of time (for meals and hotel). On the back end of the trip you will get $600.00 reimbursement from GA swimming ($1,200 if swimming both nationals and juniors).

Thanks……Winning sectionals was fun, way to go. Two years ago we took 6 swimmers to the sectional meet in Knoxville, and it we fought for a couple of second swims. This year was a lot better, and that trend will continue.

I will have video later in the week as well….lot to get through. I apologize in advance for the audio…

Thanks,

JT
